About Our Collections at the University of Richmond

Boatwright Library’s Digital Engagement Team creates digital collections of University publications, of archival materials held by the University, and of materials that advance learning and research at and beyond the University. They execute or manage each stage in this process, from digitization of print or analog materials to the creation of transcriptions and metadata, and from the development of digital collections to the long-term preservation of digital materials for future generations. More information about Digital Engagement can be found here

The physical materials which were digitized are held by UR's Book Arts, Archives, and Rare Book department (BAARB). More information about their unit can be found here or their finding aids can be found on their ArchivesSpace site here

Digital materials included in collections provided by the library are generally open to the public, but are intended for educational and research purposes only. Any other use, including but not limited to reproduction, redistribution, publication, or transmission, is prohibited without specific written consent. Further questions can be sent to the Digital Collections Librarian at warner.west@richmond.edu

The University of Richmond's digital collections are made accessible online as a historical record to be used by researchers and the public. Like in our physical collections, some digital materials contain dated or offensive images, language, mindsets, or other content. Rather than censor the materials, we're presenting them in their original context where they portray the social thoughts and occurences of the time. These materials do not reflect or mirror the views of the University of Richmond's Digital Engagement department, which is committed to fostering a diverse and welcoming learning community.
